Red and Green Amaranth Sasmi

This healthy and wholesome Udipi recipe with Amaranth leaves will leave you wanting for more.

    Ingredients: Others

    Mustard seeds

    red chilly

    Grated coconut

    Tamarind

    Salt

    Urad dal

    Curry leaves.

    Method

    Wash and chop the leaves and tender stems of Amaranth

    Soak tamarind in warm water and extract its juice Add chopped amaranth and tamarind in a vessel and cook it in medium flame until the leaves are soft

    Add grated coconut, mustard seeds, red chillies and a little water in a blender

    Grind it to fine paste

    Add this masala to he cooked amaranth leaves

    Add salt and water if required and bring it to boil

    Prepare your tadka by adding mustard seeds in oil followed by urad dal, curry leaves and red chillies

    Add this to the Amaranth Sasmi and prepare to serve!
